WebAs much as cultural criminology seeks to ground itself in the best of existing criminology and sociology, it seeks also to reinvigorate the study of crime by integrating a host of alternative perspec - tives. Our intention is to continue turning the intellectual kaleidoscope, look - ing for new ways to see crime and the social response to it. WebThe labelling perspective has already made a number of appearances in this book, since it is impossible to discuss recent criminological developments without acknowledging its influence. The first chapter identified the influence of the perspective on criminal justice policy in Britain in the 1980s, particularly in relation to young people.
