Ginger Baker is a hard drummer to copy, he had a very unique style in the late 60s. But he doesn't even fit in the same category as guys like Bonham and Keith Moon. It so happened that his musical opportunities took him in a different direction, but there's no reason to say he would have been incapable to do it given the opportunities.
