WebAug 18, 2016 · Assuming the plasterboard is attached securely to the lintel - which is should be, with dot and dab - then a solution could be to forget the fixings and simply glue a timber 'batten' to the top recess. Your blind can then be screwed to the batten. Obviously it will be visible, so you'd need to choose something that will look ok.
