The only useful piece is the chest piece which can be used to make a very small side quest in Arx very easy to do. You can do the quest without the chest piece. It's far from useless if you're wearing all pieces of the set, as the negative attributes are then removed.

And that’s not including weapon skills like two handed or and strength or whatever from gear or effects as well.
